A transient has been charged with stabbing two people and attacking two others on Hollywood Boulevard last week, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Daniel Samuel Jones (dob 11/21/83) was charged yesterday with one felony count of attempted murder and four felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, a knife and a screwdriver.

Jones pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to return for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 11 in Department 33 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

The defendant is charged with stabbing a woman with a screwdriver on the sidewalk near Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on Nov. 22, prosecutors said. Jones is then alleged to have entered a nearby hotel and assaulting two employees with a knife before leaving and stabbing a man walking on the sidewalk, prosecutors added.

Bail is scheduled at more than $1.1 million. If convicted as charged, Jones faces a possible maximum sentence of 17 years in state prison.

Case BA463192 remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Division.
