March 5, 2019: High School Track Coach Charged with Having Long-Term Sexual Relationship with Student

A 37-year-old track coach at Rosemead High School has been charged with having a long-term sexual relationship with a student, beginning when the victim was 14 years old, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Deputy District Attorney Rosalba Gutierrez said Fidel Camarena Dominguez (dob 11/23/81) of La Puente faces six counts of lewd act upon a child 14 or 15, two counts each of oral copulation of a person under 16 and dissuading a witness, as well as one count each of unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation of a person under 18.

Arraignment is scheduled today in Department N of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch. Case KA120359 was filed on March 4.

Dominguez is accused of having sex with the female student from February 2015 to June 2017, according to the criminal complaint.

Bail is scheduled at $400,000. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 10 years in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
