A 52-year-old woman was charged today with trying to kidnap a 14-month-old girl and in a separate incident, allegedly grabbing a 3-year-old boy in Glendale, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Lisa A. Arnold (dob 1/18/64) of Glendale faces two felony counts of attempted kidnapping with the special allegation that the victims where under 14 years old.

Arnold pleaded not guilty today in case GA099463 and is scheduled to return on Aug. 29 in Department 1 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Burbank Branch.

On Aug. 10, Arnold allegedly tried to take a girl strapped to her stroller near Adams Street and Chevy Chase Drive before being chased off by the victim’s mother, prosecutors said. Following the alleged incident, the defendant is accused of driving to John Marshall Elementary School where she picked up a 3-year-old boy, prosecutors added. The victim’s mother and brother allegedly prevented Arnold from leaving with the child.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of more than nine years in state prison. Bail was set at $100,000.

The case remains under investigation by the Glendale Police Department.
