February 22, 2024: District Attorney Gascón Charges Two More People in Southeast LA Crime Spree That Killed Six

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón today announced charges against two additional individuals, 18-year-old Joseivan Mendoza and 17-year-old Deair Fleming Delerence, for their involvement in separate shootings during a multi-city crime spree that killed six people, including a 14-year-old boy, in November 2023 and February 2024.

February 21, 2024: DA Gascón Announces Charges Against a LA Police Officer Who Stole Debit and Credit Cards at the Metropolitan Detention Center in LA

LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón today announced that former Los Angeles Police Officer Edmond Babaians, a 15-year LAPD veteran, is charged with stealing debit and credit cards from four individuals as they entered through the security checkpoint at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles between approximately July 14 and July 23, 2023.
