March 28, 2014: Former UCLA Associate Athletic Director Charged in Child Pornography Case

A former UCLA associate athletic director charged with possession of child pornography is expected to be arraigned today, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Michael Sondheimer (dob 4/5/55) is scheduled to appear this morning in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center for arraignment.

He is charged in case BA421860 with one felony count of possession of matter depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct. The alleged offense occurred on or about April 24, 2013.

The defendant was found in possession of child pornography on his work-issued laptop computer, said Deputy District Attorney Samer Hathout of the High Technology Crime Division.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the University of California Police Department.
