A former Lakewood High School teacher accused of sexually abusing a student pleaded no contest today, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Troy Davis of the Victim Impact Program said Mary Jahn (dob 9/10/65) pleaded to one count of lewd act upon a child in case NA107331.

The 53-year-old defendant is expected to be sentenced on Nov. 30 in Department S19 of Los Angeles County Superior Court, Long Beach Branch. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Jahn faces three years in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration upon sentencing.

The defendant engaged in a three-year sexual relationship starting in July 2008 with a 15-year-old female student while she was a teacher at Lakewood High School, prosecutors said. In 2017, the now adult victim alerted authorities about the sexual abuse.

The case was investigated by the Long Beach Police Department.
