A former junior varsity volleyball coach at Esteban Torres High School pleaded no contest today to sexually molesting two 15-year-old girls he met at the school, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Jonathan Adam Roldan, 23, pleaded to one felony count of unlawful sexual intercourse with one victim and one misdemeanor count of child molestation involving the second victim, said Deputy District Attorney Reinhold Mueller with the Sex Crimes Division.

Roldan returns to court June 9 for sentencing before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Maral Injejikian. He faces three years in state prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Judge Injejikian issued a protective order barring Roldan to have any contact with the two victims for 10 years.

The Los Angeles resident admitted engaging in an ongoing sexual relationship with one female student starting in September. About a month later, he admitted beginning a relationship with a second female student. Both victims attended Esteban Torres High School, Mueller said.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victim’s Bureau investigated the case.
