A former Los Angeles County Superior Court clerk pleaded guilty today to misappropriating more than $6,000 in filing fees meant for the courts, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Linda Mascorro, 60, returns to Department 50 at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Nov. 5 for sentencing in case BA438293. She pleaded guilty to one felony count of misappropriation of public funds.

Deputy District Attorney Michele Gilmer with the Public Integrity Division said Mascorro will be sentenced to 500 hours of community service, placed on probation for three years and ordered to pay $6,345 in restitution to the court.

Mascorro admitted stealing more than $6,000 between 2010 and 2014 while she worked as a clerk at the Pomona courthouse. The Covina resident stole money while processing and collecting fees from individuals filing civil name change petitions.

The case was investigated by auditors with the Superior Court of California.
