September 26, 2018: Former Building Inspector Charged with Hiding Cameras in Bathrooms

A former building inspector for the city of Rancho Palos Verdes has been charged with secretly recording dozens of men and women at a City Hall bathroom and a nearby coffee house, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Andrew James Jensen (dob 8/17/69) of Huntington Beach faces 89 misdemeanor counts of unauthorized invasion of privacy: peeking.

Arraignment is scheduled today in Department 3 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Torrance Branch. Case 8TR05330 was filed for warrant yesterday.

Jensen is accused of using a hidden camera to secretly record 63 women and 26 men from June 13 to July 5, prosecutors said.

Bail is set at $450,000. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 44 years in jail.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
