A former teacher at a Los Angeles high school was sentenced today to two years in state prison for sexually assaulting a student in 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Gina Murry (dob 12/24/85) also must register as a sex offender and a 10-year protective order was issued by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Norm Shapiro.

In November 2019, Murry pleaded no contest to one count each of lewd act upon a child and oral copulation of a person under 16.

Deputy District Attorney Jessica Kronstadt of the Sex Crimes Division prosecuted the case.

In May 2018, Murry, who taught at Esteban Torres High School, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy, the prosecutor said.

Case BA471486 was investigated by the Special Victims Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
