A 44-year-old Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy pleaded no contest today to child sexual molestation for having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

John Augustus Rose II entered his plea before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo.

He returns to court on Nov. 26 for sentencing in case BA416253. He faces three years in state prison and will be ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Deputy District Attorneys Rosa Alarcon and Amy Pellman Pentz with the Justice System Integrity Division prosecuted the case.

Alarcon said Rose began a sexual relationship with the girl beginning in March and continuing through June 2013. He met her through her family.

Rose, who has been with the department 22 years, pleaded to one count of lewd act on a child and one count of possession of matter depicting minor engaging in sexual conduct.
