January 16, 2019: Covina Mother Charged in Toddler’s Murder

A 39-year-old woman was charged today with the murder of her 2-year-old son, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Xa Dinh Ngo, a.k.a. Michelle Ngo, (dob 4/9/79) of Covina faces one count of murder with a special allegation that she personally used a deadly and dangerous weapon, a knife.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned today in Department F of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch. Case KA119988 was filed Jan. 15.

On Jan. 11, Ngo allegedly stabbed the toddler multiple times resulting in death, prosecutors said.

Bail is requested at $2 million. Ngo faces a possible maximum sentence of 26-years-to-life in state prison.

Deputy District Attorney Leslie Bouvier is assigned to the case.

The case remains under investigation by the Covina Police Department.
