A man previously convicted of molesting a 6-year-old relative in 1996 was sentenced today for sexually abusing another family member between 2000 and 2007, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Jon Hatami, who prosecuted the case, said Greg Anthony Adrian (dob 6/2/70) was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison in case MA040418.

On Oct. 14, Adrian pleaded no contest to one count of lewd act upon a child and admitted to the 1996 conviction on the same count.

The defendant fled on Nov. 8, 2007 after a 12-year-old family member told a Lancaster teacher about being sexually abused by the defendant since she was in kindergarten.

Earlier that day, the defendant had struck the victim on the head with a telephone, the prosecutor said.

Adrian was finally found in Flagstaff, Ariz., and sent back to California on Aug. 14, 2013, the prosecutor added.

The defendant has been a registered sex offender since his 1996 conviction for molesting a relative, but failed to register since he has been on the run. He was sentenced to three years in state prison for that case.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
