A 75-year-old man was sentenced today to more than 102 years in state prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of drugging and raping a woman two years ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Hatami said Arthur Eugene Lindsey was found guilty on Feb. 6 of two counts each of rape of an unconscious person, rape by use of drugs and sexual penetration by foreign object.

On that day, a jury also found Lindsey guilty of one count each of oral copulation of an unconscious person, possession of firearm by a felon with three priors and oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance in case MA059832.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Daviann Mitchell of the Antelope Valley Branch also ordered the defendant to register as a sex offender and to pay for rape crisis counseling for the victim after hearing from her about the impact of the attack.

Lindsey was convicted in 1965 of first-degree murder and first-degree murder in the perpetration of rape for the killing of a 21-year-old woman in Indiana. He also was convicted of failing to file a change of address as a sex offender in 2005.

The victim on the most recent case was drugged and raped for two days in Lindsey’s Agua Dulce trailer beginning on June 3, 2013, according to witness testimony.

On June 5, 2013, parole officers conducting a search of Lindsey’s home rescued the woman, who was 29 years old at the time, after they discovered him sexually assaulting her while she was unconscious, the prosecutor said.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
