A 33-year-old woman accused of having sexual relations with a high school student was charged today, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Vanessa Antonia Tinoco (dob 5/1/81) of Pomona was charged with two felony counts: oral copulation of a person under 18 and unlawful sexual intercourse in case KA107816.

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned today in Department F of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch. Prosecutors will recommend that Tinoco’s bail be set at $70,000.

Prosecutors said a person at a high school in Claremont alerted authorities after they became concerned about the interactions between Tinoco, a school cafeteria worker, and a male student.

During the police investigation, law enforcement learned the defendant reportedly had sexual interactions with the teenager over the past few months and Tinoco was arrested.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of three years and 8 months in state prison.

The case is being investigated by the Claremont Police Department.
