A 56-year-old man accused of running a brothel out of his home pleaded not guilty today, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Zhi Wang (dob 7/26/57) of Alhambra is charged with two felony counts of pimping in case GA093727.

The defendant appeared before Judge Carlos Uranga at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Alhambra and his bail was set at $50,000.

Wang was arrested June 24 after authorities responded to an anonymous tip and discovered two female prostitutes at the defendant’s home.

The defendant’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 3 for a bail review at the Alhambra Courthouse in Department 5.

If convicted as charged, Wang faces a maximum sentence of seven years and four months in state prison.
