An actor suspected of fatally shooting his wife at the couple’s Los Angeles home Monday night was charged today with murder, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Michael Andrew Jace (dob 7/13/62) is scheduled to be arraigned sometime today at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Department 30, in case BA424932. He is charged with one count of murder with a gun allegation. Prosecutors will ask that his bail be set at $2 million.

The actor who portrayed a police officer in “The Shield” called 911 Monday shortly after 8:30 p.m. The body of April Jace was found inside the couple’s home in the 5400 block of Brynhurst Avenue along with the couple’s two young sons. They were unharmed, authorities said.

If convicted, Jace faces 50 years to life in state prison.

The case is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
