A Los Angeles acting coach was sentenced today to six years in state prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl seven years ago, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Cameron Thor, 56, also was ordered to register as a sex offender by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Martin Herscovitz.

In August, jurors found Thor guilty of one count of lewd act upon a child and the special allegation of substantial sexual contact was found to be true.

Deputy District Attorney Simone Shay said the victim took private classes from Thor at his Agoura Hills home. In March 2009, Thor drove the girl, then 13, to the Santa Monica Mountains where he sexually assaulted her.

Thor was arrested in 2014.

Case LA078037 was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau.
