Drug
Rape Campaign & Poster Request
The Los Angeles County
District Attorney's Office is expanding a major public awareness campaign aimed at
preventing alcohol and drug-related rapes -- especially those involving knockout drugs
that are slipped into the drinks of unsuspecting victims.
More and more rapists are using drugs such as GHB and
Rohypnol, or Roofies, to incapacitate their victims during sexual assaults. These attacks
can happen anywhere. But they often begin in bars and nightclubs, or at college campus
parties where alcohol is served.
As part of the campaign, the District Attorneys
Office is asking bars, nightclubs and college campuses to post several posters warning of
the alcohol and drug rape problem. One of the posters contains valuable information about
what to do if you are raped. The posters, can be ordered at no
cost by calling the Bureau of Crime Prevention & Youth Services at (213) 974-7401 or
by filling out the form requesting posters via this link.
Due to limited supplies, the posters will be provided
only to appropriate businesses and student groups.
